They will continue to play their home matches in Guildford and are looking to build on the success and achievements of Brunel Hurricanes.

Paul Clark, Chief Executive Officer for England Netball commented, “I would like to thank Brunel University for their contribution to the success and popularity of the league and welcome Surrey Storm on board, wishing them every success in the forthcoming season.

It is important for netball that our London and South East region has a Superleague franchise to inspire more people in the Capital to participate in the sport. I am very much looking forward to the new season and the excitement Surrey Storm will bring.”

The Co-operative Netball Superleague season, this year, will start later than in previous years and will continue to do so for the next two years. The decision was made to assist the national squad’s preparations for the Commonwealth Games in October 2010 and the Netball World Championships in July 2011.
