Where: Appleby College, Oakville, Canada
Details: A total of five teams representing England, USA, Canada, France and South Africa will take part in the Women’s Nations Cup. The event is believed to be the most important and strongest prior to the Women’s Rugby World Cup next year in London.

Gabi Rowe from Port Isaac, Cornwall, has won the 2009 Rip Curl Girls Tour. Rowe finished at the top at Croyde on July 26th, and finished 5th at St Ives, Cornwall on July 29th, which helped her become the tour champion. Gwen Spurlock of Swansea was ranked second. (more…)

The Bristish women’s 4×200m Freestyle relay team won the bronze medal at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Rome on Thursday. The team that qualified for the final with the fastest time was expected to win a medal. This victory gave a major boost to the British team which failed to win a medal in the 4X200m Freestyle event in the Beijing Olympics. (more…)
