British Olympic hopeful Naomi Folkard has taken the silver medal at the European Archery Championships in Vittel, France.
Berengere Schuh of France beat Folkard in the women’s recurve final, by 104 points to 99.
It’s the second consecutive silver for the 24 year old in the Championships and the only medal for Team GB in the competition.
Folkard is now concentrating her efforts on qualifying for Beijing; she is one of six archers who will shoot off for three places next month.
“Naomi’s had a great week, and it was a shame she couldn’t end it with a gold medal,” said Hilda Gibson, Team GB manager. “On this form she will certainly be a contender in Beijing, if she qualifies, as will Schuh – both girls fully justified their place in the final.”
